History
The American Republic Insurance Company was established over 75 years ago and was founded just prior to the Great Depression. In 1929, Watson Powell launched 200 charter policies, and it was through his shrewd planning and responsible attitude that he was able to facilitate the survival of the fledgling company. By the close of the Second World War, he was able to expand beyond his home territory of Iowa and into Minnesota.
