Baltimore, Maryland — People are losing their jobs in record numbers with our slowing economy. UnitedHealth Group, is a large group health insurance carrier that is offering a new program that allows a continuation of coverage to individuals that are already covered by another insurer for a monthly premium.

This new plan is called UnitedHealth Continuity Insurance It is being offered as a cheaper alternative to the federal COBRA coverage and targets individuals who are fearful of losing health benefits through their employer or baby boomers planning to retire before they are eligible for Medicare.
