Health Insurance Agents * Where Do You Work?
It is always interesting to understand where various health insurance agents work. Some agents work for captive organizations that in some instances offer higher commission payouts and bonus’. Is that true all you captive agents? Others work as inside sales reps for the various carriers like, Aetna, Humana, and United HealthCare. How is that treating you? It seems the majority of you in this business are independent health insurance agents working for either a local GA or an FMO. What has been your experience with this? Please fill us in. I am a new agent that just started selling health insurance in California. It has not been easy starting out in the health insurance industry especially with no prior experience. I am lucky to have meet some other agents in California who have helped me out with advice. I would not want to ever be a captive agent becasue you are not really working for yourself. I am trying to stay positive and working hard.
